Lao Tse said in the Tao Te Ching, "When autumn comes, no leaf is spared for it's beauty; no flower for its fragrance."

It is the nature of things to sprout from obscurity to significance, flourish in splendor, diminish, and finally fade into death.

Reality is ruthless, and not even WoW can defy it with any lasting success.

The laws of nature tell us that Blizzard's failure merely provides fertile ground for the next giants to rise in the inevitable spring to come.

That is a beautiful way to look at things.

This quote was too classy for this thread.

I'm Bob Ross right now. Waiting for those good times to come back. Sure could use some.

Sounds good, but you're just completely wrong lmao. These numbers were taken from the END of the previous expansion, which is usually the time when players are leaving. It still had 7 million subscribers. I believe this is more than every single popular MMO out there combined.

https://old.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/1bm8gky/wow_has_over_7_million_active_players/

It's likely that now, on an expansion with more hype that players seem to really like, during a more popular time of the expansion, that number is much higher. You may not be the target audience, but you've became the same person from the past 15 years that always says "Wow is finally dead!" who's been wrong every single time. It doesn't matter how much you dislike the game currently, the game clearly isn't dying. The numbers and the graph all disagree with you.

7 mil would be cool in like 2006 when most of the people you meet in real life only have access to a work computer and maybe a family PC at home for emails that can run half life sometimes.

What are you talking about lmfao this is the most popular MMO ever to the point where it has more subs than every other MMO combined, and has more players than 95% of games out there currently, on a game that you pay $15 a month for. You're just coping so hard it's unreal right now lmfao. There is no way you're pretending like 7 million for a sub based MMO is a low number.

Yeah I'm also sad about the genre being dead right now.

[–]Bosefus1417 1 point2 points  (3 children)

7 million players at minimum = dead got it. Everyone should note that this person here is another example of the current wow hater. He knows it's a lot of players, he's just coping because he's wrong and he doesn't want to admit it. It's like arguing with a flat earther who flew into space and sees that the Earth is round through a window and now he's saying the window is actually a TV screen.

Dead from good games not interest.

I have an active sub lol.

[–]Bosefus1417 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I have an active sub lol.

Why am I not shocked

Classic was World of Warcraft's midlife crisis. I hope you and the millions of others enjoy WoW in its waning golden years. I think there is something absolutely laudable about that.

I'm glad you're the arbiter of the future and that only your view on video games is the correct one. I and millions of others enjoy the game and like the trajectory that it's on. Just because you don't like the game doesn't mean that it's dead or unpopular. It's okay to accept that it's not for you while also acknowledging that it's great for many other people. You saying that the game is "dead" or "dying" is wrong by every metric. I don't know how else to tell this to someone that refuses to acknowledge reality. I feel like you're saying the sky is green, and I'm telling you it's blue and you look up and see that it's blue, and yet still say it's green. It's impossible to talk to someone who just denies any evidence that they're given.
